Anneyeongaseyo!! It’s been a couple of months I was not able to share any posts. As I was held up with certain situations, it took me some time to sort out all that stuff. This time I came across two different things, “Stalking can lead to murder/attempt to kill someone” and “poisonous garden”. After sleeping on this two information for a while, I decided to share about stalking murder attempts. Keep reading to know about some interesting and awful things behind it. Let’s look into a stalking case study about an actress, Theresa Saldana.
WHO IS SALDANA?
Saldana was an American actress, who was born on 1954, August 20 in Brooklyn borough (one of the five boroughs) of New York City. When Saldana was five days old, she was adopted by Divina and Tony Saldana, a family of Puerto Rican (bloodlines and culture of these people are combination of Spanish, African, and Taino & Carib Indian races) and Italian-American heritage (Americans who are Italian ancestry).
Saldana was fond of dance and enrolled herself in dance classes. But she was forced to give up her passion for dance once her shoulder was badly injured during a dance rehearsal. At age 12, she joined the acting class. When she was performing in an off-Broadway musical called “New York City Street Show” in 1977, she was noticed by her performance and talent. This stage drama paved the path for her debut in the film Nunzio in 1978. Saldana is also an activist (a campaigner who talks about politics and social change) and a writer too. In 1990, she was able to play the role of Rachel Scali in one of the television series as the wife of Police Commissioner Tony Scali. In 1994, she received a “Golden Globe” award for playing a supporting actress role in a comedy-drama called “Commish.” After this she had become a known face in the industry and a rising celebrity, too.
Later she got an opportunity to take up different roles on the big screen (transformation from TV Series to Movies). Major roles played by Saldana in the movies include 1980; Ranging Bull (sports drama); and as Beatles (English rock band which is formed in 1960’s) fan directed by Robert Zemeckis (famous director known for his adventures movie) in 1978, Beatlemania ensemble I Wanna Hold Your Hand. Slowly Saldana developed a good image in the film industry.
FAN ARTHUR RICHARD JACKSON
Richard was a 46-year-old man who lived in Aberdeen (Originally derived from Aberdon. Known to be approximate location of Scottish settlement); Scotland. Aberdeen is situated at the mouth of the river Don. The word Aberdeen means, ”At the mouth of the Don.” He was also called to be a drifter (Wanderer without any permanent place or home).
As Saldana became a known face to the public, she gradually got many fans who admired her in different ways. Saldana felt grateful for all these blessings. But she was not aware that this blessing was actually a disguise of a curse until she met Richard.
Richard was an obsessed fan of Saldana. After watching one of Saldana’s movies Defiance, Richard started admiring her acting. This admiration finally leads to mania. This obsession made him think in a weird (psychopathic) way as he would like to spend his after life with Saldana. So, first he decided to kill her and commit suicide to achieve his plan.

To execute his plan, Richard travelled to United States illegally without proper identity exposure. First Richard hired a private investigator to get Saldana’s mother's number. After getting her number, he pretended to claim that he was the spokesperson of famous American film director, producer, and screen writer, Martin Scorsese. Saldana’s mother believed his made-up story and shared the residence details (West-Hollywood) of her daughter.
Richard's crooked plan was that he decided to visit Saldana’s house and wait for her near the entrance gate of her residence. Once she came out of her house, he decided to stab her. In 1982, Richard reached Saldana’s house and executed his plan. He continuously stabbed her 10 times using a hunting knife. Luckily, deliveryman Jeffrey Fenn rushed to the spot and saved her from the attack. He even succeeded in controlling Richard and bought him back to his senses.
Saldana was taken to hospital for treatment and recovered fully. Richard's murder attempt was proved, and he was given a 12-years sentence in prison for his crime. In the meantime, Saldana even faced many financial issues and was not able to manage her medical expenses. These issues even made her personal life complicated, and she got divorced officially. Richard's torture against Saldana continued even while he was in prison. He continuously sent her threatening letter to hospital locations.
Saldana was affected by this stalking trauma and really tried hard to come out of it. After many struggles, she bounces back from rock bottom. She finally became a leading lawyer for the victim’s rights. She also got rid of this traumatic attack by filming the incident for the TV show “Victims for victim: The Theresa Saldana Story.” She came forward to play this show to create awareness about stalking.

This is not the end of stalking and the victim's pain because of it. There are many more stalking incidents that are happening around the world even today and most of the victims are fighting for justice. I would like to conclude by saying, if you guys face any kind of issues, be bold and fight back with courage no matter whom you are going to defend. One day or the other victory is in near future.
